I can’t exactly remember how I, a 23-year-old encouraged to love current pop music, fell in love with rockabilly, 80’s synth, ballads or classic rock…but I know for sure Youtube had something to do with. (That, and my parent’s collection growing up)
I’ll unashamedly admit that I’ve uttered the phrase: “Ugh. I wish I was born in a different era!” at some point in my life; and yes, I cringed too.
But the fact of the matter is, music from way back then hits me differently than what I hear today. And while I’m not saying that modern music is bad, I simply find myself tuning top 40 stations out quite often.
So, in the spirit of #ThrowBackThursday, I thought I’d feature a couple of #throwbacktunes that I love and have been listening to recently.

Dreams – Fleetwood Mac
“Thunder only happens when it’s raining, players only love you when they’re playing; Say: Women, they will come and they will go; when the rain washes you clean, you’ll know”
How Much I Feel – Ambrosia
“Oh take hold of my hand, and all will be forgiven”
Into the Great Wide Open – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
“Into the great wide open, under the skies so blue; Out in the great wide open, a rebel without a clue”
Modern Love – David Bowie
“There’s no sign of life, it’s just the power to charm, I’m lying in the rain, but I never wave bye-bye, But I try”
Moving Out – Billy Joel
“and it seems such a waste of time if that’s what it’s all about; mama if that’s moving up, then I’m moving out”
Logical Song – Supertramp
“There are times when all the world’s asleep, the questions run too deep for such a simple man; Won’t you please, please tell me what we’ve learned, I know it sounds absurd, please tell me who I am”
